Safely Remove Unwanted
Tattoos and Pigmented Lesions

No matter the reason why, when you want a tattoo removed, you want to be certain it’ll be gone for good. Laser tattoo removal needs to be safe, effective, and efficient, getting you the results you need. At PearlMedicaMD, we’re happy to offer laser tattoo removal services to remove the unwanted piece and restore your skin’s natural look and feel. We can also fade the tattoo, making it easier to update for a new piece.

Our Laser Treatment Services

At PearlMedicaMD, we use the industry standard Candela Alex TriVantage® laser system to effectively remove tattoos. It can easily target a variety of tones and colours, and is the only laser that can effectively target black, red, green, blue, and brown inks.

In addition, we’re able to provide effective pigmented lesion treatment with the same laser system. Freckles, age spots, and birth marks can safely be minimized and reduced entirely.

The Treatment Process

It’s important to note that treatment will vary between patients due to a number of factors, including age, treatment location, skin tone, and the age and depth of a tattoo. In general, though, a typical first appointment, if treatment starts the same day, consists of:

  • Assessment of the treatment area;
  • Pre-treatment photos for reference;
  • Application of ice to cool and comfort the skin;
  • Initial treatment with the laser applicator;
  • Post-treatment care with an ice pack and topical cream or ointment; and
  • Application of a bandage.

Removing a tattoo is always going to carry some discomfort, but it’s minimized with the Candela Alex TriVantage® laser system. Most patients report each laser pulse feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin.

Post-Treatment Care and Protection

Post treatment instructions are gone over after each session.  In addition to a topical antibiotic cream or ointment, it’s important to use a light bandage to protect the treated area. It will heal quickly in about three to four days.  Moisturizing the area is very important. If the treated area will be exposed to direct sunlight, it’s important to keep it covered and protected between treatments. Use sunblock regularly until treatment is complete. Finally, avoid abrasive skin cleaners until the treated area has recovered fully.
